The Beach that Never Was was an exhibition jointly organised by Juka Araikawa and Krister Olsen from the Hayama Projects, and Mike HJ Chang. The 2014 exhibition explores artists from California, Tokyo, and Singapore, and their respective relationships to their homes and living spaces. It took place in the Earl Lu Gallery, and was supported by Institute of Contemporary Art Singapore.

The artists include Juka Araikawa, Stephanie Burt, Joshua Callaghan, Mike HJ Chang, Hirofumi Isoya, Joshua Miller, Krister Olsson, Pimeriko, Ryo Shimizu, and Mark Thia.
